''My main focus in composing this film was to thoroughly explore the 'uncanny valley.' I wanted to find a space that would shake our reason, a space where emotions become distorted and it becomes difficult to tell what is real. Director Curry (Parker) and I spent a lot of time together, meticulously building a balance of various emotions: warmth and fear, nostalgia and alienation, and the liberation of love contrasted with a sense of confinement... What was particularly exciting was not being afraid to take risks. We deliberately incorporated abrupt cuts (sound abruptions) and explosive loud volumes that challenge the listener. To make the listener feel 'uncomfortable'—that was our aim.'' This film marks Rock Burwell's memorable debut as a feature film composer. This creative partnership, which began with a fateful encounter between director Curry Parker and the director during a music project in Los Angeles, resulted in an ambient, synthesizer-fueled, brain-wrenching, and sublime score.
