With Hoarse, 16 Horsepower capture the full force of their live presence. Recorded in Denver and Paris, the album presents material from Low Estate and Sackcloth 'n' Ashes in versions that feel sharper, heavier and more focused than their studio counterparts. The accordion-driven opening of "American Wheeze" sets the tone for a performance that moves with controlled ferocity and haunting precision. Covers such as "Bad Moon Risin," "Fire Spirit," and Joy Division's "Day of the Lords" are transformed into dark, mesmerizing ritual pieces.

Edition of 1000 copies, hand numbered on the rear jacket.

Issued with black, die-cut paper inner sleeves and housed in a gatefold jacket.

The track listing on the rear jacket is incorrect; "Black Lung" is listed as the first track on side C, but it is in fact the third song on side B. This error is also present on the 2014 and 2021 pressings.

The Indigo distribution number is listed as 'LP 80561' on the rear jacket, and 'LP 99253-1' in the runouts.

Runout details are hand etched except stamped 'INDIGO LP 99253-1 A' on side A, and 'INDIGO LP 99253-1 C' on side C. The faintly inscribed plating marks ('2+' and '3I') are mirrored.
