Joe Henry's 2009 record "Blood From Stars" sees him exploring the realms of orchestral blues and jazz. Not only is Henry a Grammy Award winning producer, but also a well-respected and prolific artist in his own right. With his evocative lyrics and soulful vocal delivery, Henry crafts a poignant narrative that stands as a testament to his terrific skills as a songwriter and lyricist. Supported by the likes of guitarist Marc Ribot and pianist Patrick Warren, the album leans into the darker and more raw sounds of blues - a departure from the expected Joe Henry sound to create something new but captivating all the same. This 2024 reissue includes five special "Live-On-Air" bonus tracks, recorded and broadcast live in Los Angeles on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" hosted by Jason Bentley on Oct 8, 2009. They allow the listener to get even closer to Henry's powerful words and melodies, making the reissue of "Blood From Stars" a great addition to any Joe Henry fan's collection.
