Description:
Capping off a dominant, ground-breaking career spanning nearly 25 years, T.I.'s legacy speaks
for itself. The rap pioneer boasts three Grammy Awards, five certified-Platinum albums,
including the 4x Multi-Platinum Paper Trail and 2x Multi-Platinum King, and over 30 million
singles sold worldwide. His influence on the Southern hip-hop landscape is immeasurable, and
KILL THE KING serves as the definitive victory lap. T.I. shares his inspiration behind the album
title by saying, "KILL THE KING is all about killing the ego."
To celebrate the release of his momentous final project, T.I. has unveiled the official music video
for his latest single, "And Won't" featuring R&B superstar Summer Walker, will be
releasing later today. The stunning visual is an ultimate homage to his city, shot entirely at the
iconic Mercedes Benz Dome in Atlanta, home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, two
cornerstone franchises with which T.I. shares deep, longstanding ties.
The road to KILL THE KING has already been paved with massive success. The album campaign
kicked off with the triumphant reunion of Tip and super-producer Pharrell Williams on the hit
single "Let 'Em Know." The track completely dominated the airwaves, becoming the first
record released T.I. year to be Certified Gold by the RIAA, and securing the #1 spot at both
Urban and Rhythmic Radio as well as hitting Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. T.I. continued to
elevate the album's sonic landscape by collaborating with the esteemed HBCU Tuskegee
Marching Red Pipers on the deeply resonant "Trauma Bond," before teaming up with Pharrell
once again for the swagger-heavy anthem "Mr. HIM."
