"The exciting questions of consciousness-what it really is and how it can be changed-became real in a way I had never experienced. I exploded inside and knew I had to follow the path the band had opened for me no matter where it led." -NEIL YOUNG In 1966 Psychedelic Rock coalesced in these grooves and it's global impact can be felt today in the recorded works of R.E.M., Julian Cope, Neil Young, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream and many more. NOW 60 years from the pioneering psychedelic rock explosion in Austin, Texas, we celebrate The 13th Floor Elevators. This special anniversary release collates all the genre defining singles released between May 1966 and January 1969. All seven singles are included, A's and B's in chronological order and mastered in mono. This unique - WORLD FIRST - is dressed in specially commissioned artwork paying homage to the Elevators legacy.
