PREMIERA NOV 27, 2026

Before dominating the Grammys and defining the sound of modern R&B, Victoria Monét delivered two of her most intimate, foundational projects: Life After Love, Pt. 1 and Life After Love, Pt. 2. Released individually in 2018, these twin EPs captured a pivotal chapter in Monét’s evolution as a solo artist, establishing the lush vocal arrangements, cinematic production, and razor-sharp songwriting that would later captivate the world. Now, for the first time ever, both transformative projects are combined into a single physical release, debuting exclusively on vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday this November. The dual project charts a complete emotional arc, chronicling the delicate journey from heartbreak to self-actualization. Part 1 delves into the raw vulnerability and quiet introspection of a breakup’s immediate fallout, anchored by sultry, unfiltered anthems like "Freak." Part 2 turns the page toward rediscovery, blooming into an exploration of newfound confidence and sensuality through standout cuts like "New Love" and the shimmering, bass-heavy fan favorite "Ass Like That." Seamlessly bridging pain and empowerment across its tracklist, the combined collection showcases Monét's innate ability to translate personal grief into universal, groove-heavy solace. By pressing these two landmark EPs together on wax, this release offers long-time fans and vinyl collectors the ultimate way to experience Monét's early masterwork as a unified narrative. It stands as a long-overdue physical grail, celebrating the resilient spirit of an artist taking back her narrative—and serving as a reminder that the best music often blooms from the ashes of heartache. 1xLP, pressed on Brown & Tan Galaxy colored vinyl to represent the duality of both albums, heartbreak and feeling shattered, and picking up the pieces and healing yourself, coming out stronger in the end, imperfections and all.

The combined vinyl beautifully bridges the two contrasting worlds that define Monét's musical DNA. Act 1 serves as a moody, ethereal introduction, featuring standout collaborations like "Made In China (feat. TyDolla $ign)" and the B.o.B-assisted "For the Thrill," which showcase her innate ability to blend nostalgic, classic R&B sensibilities with atmospheric production. Act 2 expands on this vision, diving deeper into infectious grooves and raw emotional vulnerability on tracks like "High Luv" and the T.I.-featured "Mad Generation." Monét herself described the era as an attempt to make music that felt like a lucid dream, exploring the inherent duality between the sweet things we chase and the dark realities we face.

For years, these foundational tracks lived strictly in the digital realm, leaving day-one fans and vinyl collectors longing for a physical release. This special Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive finally delivers that tactile, high-fidelity experience, offering a fascinating look at the raw talent and sophisticated songwriting that eventually blossomed into her later masterpieces. Beautifully packaged and pressed exclusively for independent record stores, this combined edition of Act 1 & Act 2 is more than just a reissue—it is a celebration of the origin story of one of modern R&B’s greatest visionaries.
