Description:

A collection of slow ballads that resonated with the young Yoshiaki Sato.

Following his 2024 solo album "Fusen" (Foreshadowing), accordionist Yoshiaki Sato, who is rooted in jazz but effortlessly transcends genre boundaries, presents his fifth album, "Kinsen" (Heartstrings).

Sato, who had long envisioned creating an album solely of swaying melodies using the unique sound of the accordion, has finally released a collection of slow ballads in which he freely plays his musical beginnings. It

begins with Yellow Magic Orchestra, whose music he became interested in because it wasn't something you hear on everyday television, and continues with the perfection of improvisation in "Kind of Blue," which he arrived at after being captivated by Akiko Yano's soft singing voice and becoming devoted to jazz, as well as the power of "Native Dancer," "Giant Steps," and "Again." Even within the jazz genre, his rendition of Keith Jarrett's "24 Preludes and Fugues" is a striking surprise. Later, guided by melodies from Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria, Bojan Z produced Bosnian folk songs, and Daniel Mille, who would later become his mentor, he discovered Bosnian folk music. The 11 tracks in total are a selection woven from various encounters and memories, plus an original composition based on a fleeting encounter with a friend. The goal was to create the perfect background music.
