John Coltrane, the eternal legend of jazz, would have celebrated his 100th birthday in September 2026. To commemorate the occasion, a selection of the masterpieces he left behind on Impulse! has been carefully chosen for release as hybrid SACDs. The masters use the latest digital sources from Verve in the U.S. The albums are also being released in a limited double-paper-sleeve edition, making them essential additions for longtime fans as well as new listeners.

This album is an epic musical journey centered on African rhythms, featuring more than a dozen brass players. The orchestral arrangements were handled by Eric Dolphy. It also includes the popular track "Greensleeves.”
