As part of a tribute to Joe Strummer, living legend DON LETTS has produced a powerful cover of THE CLASH's iconic ''London Calling''-now being released on vinyl for the very first time as a limited edition. True to DON LETTS' ever-evolving style and his position at the forefront of contemporary culture, this version is a modern, electric dub reinterpretation. The production features contributions from former B.A.D. member DAN DONOVAN and dub artist DUBMATIX. Adding even more weight to the release, MASTA SIMON of MIGHTY CROWN-currently on hiatus-joins as the introduction MC, a collaboration born from his close connection with DON LETTS during last year's Japan tour. At DON LETTS' 2024 Tokyo show, MASTA SIMON spontaneously jumped on the mic during LETTS' DJ set, sending the crowd into a frenzy. His intro here captures the energy of that unforgettable night, making this a truly special dub version. The jacket artwork features a rare outtake of DON LETTS from the iconic photo session used for ''THE CLASH / BLACK MARKET CLASH,'' showing him facing off against riot police. Designed by graphic artist Kosuke Kawamura, the sleeve is a visual gem-one you'll want to display next to the original THE CLASH 10-inch. This release marks the very first from DON LETTS' project REBEL DREAD HARDWARE.

Don Letts Born in Brixton, London, Don Letts became a central figure in London culture through his shop ''Acme Attractions,'' which stood alongside Vivienne Westwood's ''SEX'' as a cultural landmark. Known for his attitude and style, he drew attention not only through fashion but also by shaking the shop's walls with deep dub reggae. His first DJ residency was at the club ''ROXY,'' which operated for only 100 days but became legendary for introducing reggae to the punk crowd. It was during this time that Letts absorbed the true spirit of DIY, which later inspired him to pursue filmmaking. He began capturing the scene in real time and, in 1979, directed ''The Punk Rock Movie,'' the first documentary on punk. He is also widely known for directing all of THE CLASH's music videos. In the mid-1980s, he joined forces with former THE CLASH member Mick Jones in the band Big Audio Dynamite. In 2003, he won a Grammy Award for the documentary ''Westway to the World,'' chronicling the story of The Clash. In 2005, he created ''Punk: Attitude,'' a deep dive into the core of the punk movement. In 2021, he participated as a selector in the globally loved compilation series ''Late Night Tales,'' earning praise for his distinctively dubbed-out selections. Under his solo project name Rebel Dread, he released his debut album ''Outta Sync'' in 2023, featuring guest vocals from the late Terry Hall and Hollie Cook, among others. He currently hosts his own weekly show, ''Culture Clash Radio,'' every Saturday on BBC Radio 6 Music.
