The third release from vinyl-only label COCAG Records.

A 12-inch featuring two tracks by Tokyo-based DJ/Producer Shimpei Watanabe. Limited release of 300 copies.

Shimpei Watanabe, who has previously released works on domestic and international labels, makes his debut with COCAG Records. The two tracks are centered around house music, pursuing minimal/deep grooves and DJ-friendly arrangements.

Mastering and lacquer cutting were handled by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering in Berlin.

A side: Take, Take

BPM 130. A minimal track that pulls the dance floor forward with a tight four-on-the-floor kick and powerful bassline, while wearing light breakbeat nuances. The expansive pads inserted at key points create a contrast with the stoic groove up to that point, instantly raising the sense of exhilaration. This track is highly DJ-friendly, unfolding around simple sound changes, yet keeping listeners engaged throughout its approximately 10-minute long run.

B-side: BYOB

BPM 127. Based on a low, sinking bassline and deep minimal house groove, this track features thick synth stabs that change expression with the opening and closing of filters. Maintaining a consistent groove, subtly shifting synth phrases add color to the upper register, resulting in a structure that keeps you swaying for approximately 7 minutes. Samples of people talking and the hustle and bustle of the city interspersed throughout create a unique atmosphere, making it a great track for clubs as well as open-air parties.
