Opis:
Haruomi Hosono himself also participates! A long-awaited analog LP release has been announced for the Haruomi Hosono tribute album supervised by Yasuharu Konishi.
This project album was born from the regular series event "Coffee House mona records," hosted by Yasuharu Konishi over three years at the live venue mona records in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. Centered around Konishi, artists who have appeared as guests throughout the series come together to perform acoustic, self-accompanied covers of songs by Haruomi Hosono.
Behind the project, the appearance of Haruomi Hosono himself cannot be ignored. He appeared as a secret guest at the mona records 21st anniversary event held on March 28, 2025.
The album features a total of 10 acts, including Yasuharu Konishi, Wataru Sawabe (Skirt), Masahiro Naoe, Kohei Kaneda (THE Love Ningen), Naoki Ito, Tetsuro Yafune, INO hidefumi, John and Paul, and YOSSY LITTLE NOISE WEAVER. Each artist reinterprets Hosono’s works with their own sensibility and deep respect.
In addition to his acoustic recording of "Furaibo," Yasuharu Konishi also contributes a live recording of "Owari no Kisetsu" performed in March 2025. The album also includes Haruomi Hosono’s own acoustic performances of "Hong Kong Blues" and "Koi wa Momoiro," the track captures the atmosphere of the venue exactly as it was.
Furthermore, the album features an unreleased recording by Haruomi Hosono: a cover of Franz Liszt’s "Liebestraum" (demo version), making this an essential listen for fans.
Bringing together the musical world of Haruomi Hosono and the artists who admire him, this work embodies the “power of connection” built over many years at mona records. It stands as a special tribute album that marks a new chapter in the history of Japanese pop music.
Originally released on CD in December 2025, the album is now set for its long-awaited analog LP release in June 2026.
