Tetsuro Yafune, whose latest album ''Free Soul'' has also received widespread acclaim, is highly trusted by music lovers across many genres both as a singer-songwriter and jazz pianist. His Ghibli song is a cover of ''Asagohan no Uta'', composed by Hiroko Taniyama and originally sung by Aoi Teshima as an insert song for Goro Miyazaki’s 2011 film ''From Up on Poppy Hill''.

The Ghibli song delivered through a wonderful collaboration between cubismo grafico — the solo project of Gakuji “Chabe” Matsuda, a key figure in Japan’s sophisticated indie music culture since the 1990s who continues to express his multifaceted talents in various forms — and singer Kaori Takeda, whose work as the vocalist of TICA helped shape a new direction in the music scene of the 2000s and whose later works have also earned tremendous acclaim, is a cover of Cécile Corbel’s ''The Neglected Garden'', an insert song from Hiromasa Yonebayashi’s 2010 film ''Arrietty''.
