Albert King, Albert Nelson was an American guitarist and singer who is often regarded as one of the greatest and most influential blues guitarists of all time. He was nicknamed "The Velvet Bulldozer" because of his smooth singing and large size - he stood 6 ft 4 in. King was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1983. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2023, he was ranked number 22 on Rolling Stone's 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
