Format: CD

Label: Hydeout Productions [4997184216036]

RELEASE DATE: June 17, 2011

Description:

Nujabes passed away suddenly in a freak accident in February 2010. Up until that point he had mainly released vinyl singles, but this ''Metaphorical Music'' was his first album, which he poured all his energy into. Released by DIMID RECORDINGS in 2003, it remains a beloved masterpiece even now, eight years later, and a core work of Nujabes and Hydeout Productions. The album includes ''Letter From Yokosuka,'' the first song produced by Uyama Hiroto, who has worked with Nujabes as a close friend, and which is filled with his feelings for Nujabes; ''FILO,'' a golden collaboration with shing02, who produced the masterpiece ''Luv(sic)''; ''A Day By Atmosphere Supreme,'' a heartwarming instrumental tune whose cover version by emancipator on Nujabes' tribute album ''modal soul classics II'' is still fresh in our memory; Nujabes' remix of ''Latitude'' by Cincinnati hip-hop group Five Deez, with whom he is close both personally and professionally; ''Blessing it remix'' by Substantial & Pase Rock, MCs who also built the foundation of Hydeout; ''Lady Brown'' by Cise Star; ''Kumomi,'' a song that weaves together memories from his childhood and beautiful landscapes that are engraved in his heart; and ''The Final,'' a beautiful song that evokes a sense of beauty and transience that can be said to vividly embody the aesthetic sense that resides in the Japanese psyche. This historic album is engraved with many of the classic songs that defined his presence, such as ''View.'' This miraculous piece of music, a mental landscape that embodies the short but intense burning of his soul, is finally re-released with a digipack jacket. Tracklist
