The Town’s collection of violins has now become the center of a new enterprise: their voices have been recorded on this SACD, rekindled by one of the greatest musicians of our time, Salvatore Accardo. Cremona is also celebrating its native son, Claudio Monteverdi, with a series of events, which have attracted admiration worldwide, from music experts and from simple music lovers. It is promoting itself as "City of Music": the time is right for this transformation of the Violin Room into a most unusual venue: no longer a dry and soulless museum but a brilliant witness to the city’s tradition and musical vocation.
