Description:

The majority of the album was created with the band’s current live support musicians. As with their previous release, CHAPPO condense a diverse range of musical elements—including blues, country, jazz, psychedelia, and exotica—through their distinctive sensibility.

Although they describe themselves as an instrumental band, the album also features eight vocal tracks born from an outpouring of their thoughts and emotions, revealing a singer-songwriter side to the group. It also includes "Small Talk (feat. Neibiss)," a collaboration with Neibiss, along with appearances by numerous guest musicians with whom the band shares close ties.

Capturing the band as they stand today, in the midst of a major creative ascent, the album has a strong documentary quality. Mixing was handled by Taiji Okuda, with mastering by Kentaro Kimura.

The music naturally takes on a different depth and character when heard on vinyl. The artwork, featuring an illustration by Ginji Kinashi and design by Tatsuya Kunieda, also deserves to be enjoyed in the analog format. The inner sleeve includes relaxed commentary by Fukuhara on guitar and Hosono on bass.

The second chapter of CHAPPO’s strange journey with no destination in sight is a must-buy.
