Curtis Amy and Dupree Bolton - Katanga [180 Gram Vinyl Record]

Format: 180 Gram Vinyl Record

Label: Blue Note (Tone Poet) [0602435149240]

Description:

180-gram LP Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original master tape Plated and pressed at RTI The Blue Note Tone Poet Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was' admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. Was brought Joe Harley (from Music Matters), a.k.a. the "Tone Poet," on board to curate and supervise a series of reissues from the Blue Note family of labels. Recorded in 1963, Katanga! is the last of six albums from saxophonist Curtis Amy recorded for Pacific Jazz in the early `60s. This remarkable session includes trumpeter Dupree Bolton, guitarist Ray Crawford, pianist Jack Wilson, bassist Victor Gaskin, and drummer Doug Sides on this gem of an album. Blue Note Tone Poet Series features all-analog, remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
