Description:

Classic ska, blues, and rocksteady combined with Japanese lyrics! Japanese singer-songwriter Mocche Nagai, who has also provided backing vocals for Stranger Cole and Leroy Sibbles, has completed his first full-length album, recorded in one take and self-published!

This album, filled with a live band ensemble of 14 members who are captivated by the mysterious charm of old Jamaican records, meticulously researches (seriously) the recording methods and philosophies of the late 1950s and early 1960s in Jamaica, before and after the birth of ska, and utilizes vintage equipment such as old ribbon microphones and open reel tape recorders. It's not merely a nostalgic reproduction, but a superb record in which Mocche Nagai's vocals and the original Japanese worldview are combined to bring out the full charm of the music.

First, they'll be releasing a 7-inch single featuring the lead track from the album! It's a reinterpretation of the Jamaican mento classic "Oh Carolina." SIDE-A features "Wakaranai na," a song full of unique phrasing and Mocche's signature humor and expressive vocals that will get you hooked. SIDE-B covers the quintessential Christmas song "White Christmas," which everyone has heard and can sing along to, as a shuffle number reminiscent of good old rhythm and blues. It's a warm and party-ready masterpiece that's sure to be the talk of the dance floor.
