Description:

Yuma Koda, a musician whose work spans film scores, performing arts, and sound installations, will release his first full-length album, "Amid Kinos," as a strictly limited-edition LP on January 27, 2027.

The album features vocal contributions from Mei Semones and Yuma Abe, alongside musicians representing Tokyo’s music scene in the 2020s, including Takuro Okada, Kei Matsumaru, Marty Holoubek, and Shun Ishiwaka. The diverse lineup also includes Julia Shortreed, Shuhei Kato (NOT WONK), LUCA, Jan Urila Sas, and drummer Shinya Fukumori, known for his releases on the prestigious ECM label.

Mixing was jointly handled by Yuma Koda, Takuro Okada, and Toshihiko Kasai, with mastering by Guy Davie. The artwork was created by Yukimasa Ida, a painter and contemporary artist who has been Koda’s close friend since his time in New York.

Released by NEWHERE MUSIC, whose catalog includes works by Jim O’Rourke, Eiko Ishibashi, Takuro Okada, and Oh Shu, the album has received acclaim overseas. "Amid Kinos" now arrives on vinyl, bringing its intricately constructed sonic layers and distinctive musical world exploring the ambiguity of memory and time to a long-awaited analog format.
